CropLife India is the voice and advocate of the plant science industry in India. As the industry’s peak body, CropLife India protects the interests of member companies by engaging with decision makers and other stakeholders at the right platforms. It provides scientific information for future development of government policies and influence implementation of these. The key goal of CropLife India is to raise awareness of the contribution that the plant science industry makes to development of sustainable agriculture and to the ongoing competitiveness of Indian agricultural exports. CropLife members invent, develop, manufacture and market crop protection products used by Indian farmers. These products protect plant yields and improve their quality by controlling weeds, pests and diseases, leading to the production of high quality, affordable and abundant food, fibre and other crops. Crop protection products are also used to protect public health and the environment by controlling weeds and pests. CropLife India members have introduced 226 of the total 230 pesticides registered in India. Sales of the CropLife India’s member companies products contribute significantly to the Indian economy including exports of technical pesticides & formulations to developed and developing markets. India is a global source of many technical pesticides for our member companies. Our members have similar global standards for safety and environmental protection. Crop protection Chemicals are a vital input to India’s agricultural industry, which is worth 10, 20, 000 Crores each year and they will help these commodities to remain internationally competitive in the years to come.   • Member companies have to comply with the Indian Laws and obligations set out in the CropLife India’s Code of Conduct as a condition of membership.
  • CropLife India advocates science and risk based legislative frameworks that are consistent in approach and application across the industry and promote competitiveness through innovation, protection of intellectual property and the introduction of new technologies and practices.
